Fantasy MLB: A Look at the Best Postseason Contests

This post contains outdated offers. Click here for the latest betting promotions.

With the NFL season already well underway, let’s not forget that a full month of the best MLB action of the year is about to kick off. The baseball postseason schedule is now live as the top teams jockey for position going into the playoffs. DFS sites are doing their part in hosting big contests and promos for the rest of the MLB year. Now it’s time for me to do my part and tell you what’s good in daily fantasy baseball.

FanDuel and DraftKings still lead the way in overall MLB volume with more contests and bigger prize pools than anyone else. Which site you choose is entirely up to you, but I’ll be here to cover the biggest and best events at both sites.

It’s looking like we’re past the point of getting any new, major fantasy MLB promotions what with 90% of the country focused on football. No problem. I’ll just stop back in every week to update this post with a look at the top contests on offer this postseason.

FanDuel Hunt for October

FanDuel is running a nice little contest series through the end of September and beginning of October. In total, more than $1.5 million in prizes will be awarded through October first. Several of these contests have already come and gone, but we still have three more big days to look forward to.

September 29: $450K Guaranteed

FanDuel’s next big MLB contests happen on Tuesday evening with the $300K Fall Classic and $150K Monster. Both start at 7 PM and offer five figure prizes to the first place winner.

The $300K Fall Classic comes with a $25 entry and will pay out $50,000 to first place. Also that evening, the $150K Monster will award $25,000 to first with a hefty $300 entry fee. Go with the bigger and cheaper one for more potential return on your money. Go with the expensive, smaller one for an easier shot at winning. In either case, a lot of money will be changing hands on Tuesday.

Summary:

  • 7PM ET: $300K Fall Classic ($50K to first, $25 entry)
  • 7PM ET: $150K Monster ($25K to first, $300 entry)

September 30: $250K Guaranteed

Two contests on Wednesday (both at 7 PM) will award a total of $250,000. On the cheap side, we have the $100K Rally for just $5 with a $10,000 first prize. On the expensive side is the $150K Grand Slam for $1,065 with $20,000 going to first.

Summary:

  • 7PM ET: $100K Rally ($10K to first, $5 entry)
  • 7PM ET: $150K Grand Slam ($20K to first, $1,065 entry)

October 1st: $150K Guaranteed

The Hunt for October concludes with one last monster contest at 7PM. This one comes with a $150,000 prize pool with $25,000 of that going to first. This one will cost you $300 but won’t be nearly as hard to win as those crazy NFL contests with 200k+ lineups to compete against.

Summary:

  • 7PM: $150K Monster ($25K to first, $300 entry)

Even Bigger Contests at DraftKings

DraftKings has been putting that marketing budget to good use lately between all those commercials and pumping up its guaranteed prize pools. This week, DraftKings has the biggest single contest in all of DFS MLB. If this trend continues, DraftKings DFS will be the place to go for the outright largest prize pools this baseball postseason.

September 29: $600K Guaranteed

Tuesday’s $350K MEGA Perfect Game will be the biggest contest of the day with $350,000 in prizes and a whopping $100,000 of that going to first place. This payout structure is heavily weighted towards the top, so get aggressive with those lineups. The big advantage of this tournament is that you’ll only be competing against 1,296 total lineups.

At the same time, the MLB $250K Tuesday Special will run a $250,000 guarantee with a reasonable $20 entry fee and $50,000 going to first place. This one is a heck of a lot cheaper but has space for 14,312 players.

Summary:

  • 7:05PM ET: $350K MLB Mega Perfect Game ($100K to first, $300 entry)
  • 7:05PM ET: $250K MLB Tuesday Special ($50K to first, $20 entry)
