Twitch Online Poker Debut: Riffld New ‘Seat Wide Open’ Show

Riffld announces new Seat Wide Open show

Known for creating unique poker productions, including The Orbit, Riffld has developed a new concept. A new online poker show titled ‘Seat Wide Open’ is the latest creation of Riffld Productions, set to provide a live show featuring interviews with top poker pros. The new program is offered via the Twitch streaming service.

The concept of the new show is unique as it will take the traditional poker interview format and combine it with game show segments. The guest will be interviewed, as the show looks at their gameplay and provide insightful analysis. The player will also take part in short game show segments, adding a fun element to the stream.

Seat Wide Open Details

The first episode of ‘Seat Wide Open’ will feature Dara O’Kearney, a Unibet Ambassador and co-host of The Chip Race. The poker pro took part in a cash game session, showing his hole cards during gameplay. The stream showcased O’Kearney as he played and how he reacted to certain hands.

Des Duffy and Leigh Wilshire provide commentary while O’Kearney plays at the felt and discusses his moves. Both hosts have years of experience in the gaming industry in both the operational and production sectors.

Robbie Strazynski, founder of Cardplayerlifestyle.com:

“One year ago, I teamed up with Des and Leigh to form Riffld Productions. Our vision was to begin producing unique and innovative content to boost poker fandom and promote the game we all know and love, specifically on our channel, http://Twitch.tv/poker.

The Orbit, which I host, represented our first of many productions to come, and we’re proud to debut our second show, Seat Wide Open, with Des and Leigh as co-hosts.”

Duffy and Wilshire add interest to the show by asking why a hand was played a certain way or how a specific poker situation should be handled. This provides an educational element to the show and helps fans pick up tips they can use in their own gameplay.

Des Duffy, co-host, Seat Wide Open,

“Having looked at the wealth of video content available today, we felt we wanted to do something a little different – certainly different in the poker vertical – to show our audience a different side of their poker heroes, a side that they can identify with off of the tables. And of course, in sitting down with these great players, we just couldn’t ignore the opportunity to put them through their poker paces as well, because everybody wants to understand the secrets behind great play, and we’ll share plenty of those across the series.”

Poker fans can easily tune in to the show as it happens and ask guests questions. The goal is to provide insight into individual players as well as the game. Fans can choose to ask the player about their career or the game being played in real-time.

Game Show Elements and Leaderboard Competition

Along with the interview segment, ‘Seat Wide Open’ adds game show elements and a leaderboard competition. The two-hour show includes game show elements like Review a Flick, Sing a Long, Stake a Shark, and Hot or Not. Each segment is short and creates a fun atmosphere, similar to a variety television show.

As the player competes in the game show segments, points are earned. Interviewees can be competitive in trying to earn the most points each week and make it to the top of the leaderboard. The players being interviewed will earn points for playing along in the game shows and for their poker play.

The new show will air on Twitch. Check out the teaser trailer for highlights of the show or go ahead and tune in to the pilot episode of ‘Seat Wide Open’ featuring O’Kearney.
