For one, asks all new customers for a BetMonarch promo code upon signing up even though there are no welcome bonuses to claim at this point. The presence of a BetMonarch promo code field, however, indicates there may be plans to introduce a welcome offer at some point.

Furthermore, the Colorado sports betting landscape is only going to become increasingly competitive. State law fosters a competitive environment with more than 30 casinos that qualify to offer online betting.

As additional online sportsbooks enter the space, bonuses and other benefits will play increasingly important roles in attracting new customers. Some of the more noteworthy perks include discounted hotel stays, free buffet access, comped meals and hotel rooms, invitations to premium sports events, invitations to parties and access to the VIP Lounge.

BetMonarch Sports Betting App

The official BetMonarch betting app is available for iOS and Android devices.

• iOS Users: iOS users can find the official app by visiting the BetMonarch Sportsbook website and looking for the iOS download link or by launching the App Store and searching for “BetMonarch.”
• Android Users: The Google Play store does not list legal sports betting apps, so Android users must visit the BetMonarch website to download the app directly.

In both cases, users are asked to begin by signing up for an account and providing basic personal information to verify each user’s age and identity as required by state law.

After registering and logging in, users are taken to a start page that lists popular upcoming events alongside navigation menus to view specific sports, adjust account settings, make deposits and initiate withdrawals.

Users who are completely new to mobile sports betting will find the app intuitive to use and navigate. One problem area we found was the app tends to hang at times when switching from one menu item to the next, which we solved by tapping anywhere on the screen to dismiss the loading icon.

BetMonarch only accepts deposits via two methods currently but says credit card functionality is coming soon as well. Currently, here’s how customers can fund their accounts:

• eCheck: Customers can deposit online via eCheck through the BetMonarch app. Users are asked to submit their Driver’s license information, banking information and an amount to deposit to transfer funds straight to BetMonarch.
• Cash at the Casino: Customers in the Black Hawk area can visit the retail sportsbook at Monarch Casino to fund their accounts with cash.
• Credit Cards: Coming soon.

BetMonarch Sportsbook accepts a minimum deposit of $40 and a minimum wager of $1 through the app.

Sports Covered by BetMonarch Sportsbook

BetMonarch covers the largest pro and college sports in the US and abroad but its coverage is not as extensive as some of Colorado’s other sportsbook providers.

However, we should note that BetMonarch launched during a strange period in the world of sports with most leagues either completely shut down or just barely beginning to reopen. As the sporting world returns to normal, we will revisit our BetMonarch review to see if more betting markets have been added.

BetMonarch.com Responsible Gambling

Responsible gambling policies do not seem to be a high priority at BetMonarch.com at this stage as there are no in-app options to set deposit limits, loss limits, time limits, or to self-exclude.

Selecting the responsible gambling menu item from within the app simply takes users to a responsible gaming page on the Colorado Gaming Association website.

BetMonarch.com Customer Support

Customer support is a mixed bag at BetMonarch currently. On one hand, it is easy to get ahold of the sportsbook manager for questions and answers related to wagering.

Users can tap the “support” icon near the bottom of the app to open a menu and then select “betting information” to visit the Monarch Casino Sportsbook website and send an e-mail to the sportsbook manager.

BettingUSA.com contacted the Monarch Sportsbook Manager with a question and received an answer that same day.

On the other hand, the app itself comes up short in not offering in-app support. There are no simple ways to submit a question or find a phone number – users must instead visit the BetMonarch website manually to find contact information.

Additionally, technical support for the app itself is lacking at the moment. When users select “contact info” from the BetMonarch menu, they are again taken to the Monarch Casino website where users are directed to contact Stadium (BetMonarch’s software partner) through the app. The one problem right now is there is no option to contact Stadium within the app.

Expert Opinion: Is BetMonarch Legit?

BetMonarch is legal, licensed, and legit, but it struggles to compete with Colorado’s deep-pocketed mainstream operators.

Its limited betting options, no welcome bonus, and lack of a desktop-friendly website make it hard to recommend BetMonarch except for bettors who wish to support a local business. Otherwise, there are many other options that provide more betting lines and better promotions.
