Georgia’s 2026 legislative session demonstrated how far away lawmakers remain from legalizing online casinos in Georgia. House Resolution 450, which called for a constitutional amendment to let the voters decide on sports betting alone, failed in the House by a vote of 63 to 98 (far short of the 120 votes it needed to pass).

Regulatory Questions

The lack of a commercial gambling industry in Georgia will also complicate any future legalization efforts.
