FanDuel Sportsbook Review
FanDuel was founded in 2009 and quickly became a significant player in sports entertainment as a daily fantasy sports site. After the Supreme Court overturned the federal sports betting ban in 2018, FanDuel aggressively pivoted to become a leading sports betting brand in the US market.
FanDuel Sportsbook first launched in New Jersey and has since expanded to offer legal sports betting in over 20 states.
FanDuel Sportsbook duels with DraftKings Sportsbook for the title of U.S. sports betting marketshare leader, taking approximately 40% of all legal online wagers placed in the USA.
New FanDuel Sportsbook customers can claim a signup bonus worth up to $150 when they register and place a winning bet of $5 or more.

FanDuel Sportsbook Bonus Details
The FanDuel Sportsbook bonus invites new customers to bet $5 on any sport to get $150 in bonus bets guaranteed.
New users do not need a FanDuel promo code to claim this offer. Depositing $10 or more and placing a first cash wager of at least $5 on any sport is all that’s required to qualify for the FanDuel bonus. Regardless of the first wager’s outcome, bettors will receive $150 in bonus bets.
The primary advantage this offer has over other sportsbook bonuses is that it requires little upfront risk in return for an outsized reward. Risking $5 for $150 in bonus bets is an attractive deal, plus bettors still collect the winnings from their initial wager if it wins.
Even if the first wager loses, bettors still get $150 in bonus bets, which ensures everyone walks away with something extra. Here’s how to claim this offer:
- Visit fanduel.com to sign up for an account
- Make a first deposit of at least $10
- Place a $5+ cash wager of any type
- You receive $150 in bonus bets, regardless of whether your first bet wins or loses
That’s all there is to it. Bettors will receive their bonus bets within 72 hours of their first wagers settling. After receiving their bonus bets, FanDuel customers can apply them in the betting slip after selecting any wager. FanDuel bonus bets are divisible, so bettors can use their site credit all at once or break it up as they wish.
Note: New customers from North Carolina get $200 in bonus bets instead of $150.
Other FanDuel Sportsbook Promotions
FanDuel Sportsbook’s promotional schedule is less aggressive compared to its fiercest competitors, leaving some of its most loyal bettors disappointed.
Still, FanDuel Sportsbook regularly offers valuable promos, especially targeting major events. Here’s a look at the types of promotions FanDuel Sportsbook offers:
- Bet & Get: Bettors are tasked with placing a parlay wager in exchange for site credit. FanDuel often awards bet credits regardless of whether the wager wins or loses (but not always, so check every offer’s terms)
- Free-to-Play Contests: FanDuel offers a variety of free-to-play contests where bettors can win cash prizes. A recent example is NBA Over/Under, where bettors who correctly pick the most proposition bets split a $5,000 weekly pot.
- FanDuel Odds Boosts: FanDuel doesn’t offer many daily odds boosts, but its boosted odds promotions generally offer above-average value compared to other online sportsbooks.
- March Madness Offers: FanDuel March Madness betting offers are some of the best in the industry, including over-the-top promos such as betting $5 on any college basketball market to win $150 in bonus bets.
- Free-to-Play Predictions: Sports fans in all states can visit FanDuel.com to participate in free-to-play predictions contests. For example, FanDuel’s Swing for the Green contests cost nothing to enter but guarantee $5,000 in prizes for PGA fans.
FanDuel Sportsbook Loyalty Program
Shockingly, FanDuel Sportsbook does not offer a VIP loyalty program, and there is little indication that it will offer one in the future. This places FanDuel at a severe disadvantage relative to other books, especially its closest competitors.
Most online sportsbooks have multi-tier sports betting loyalty programs to reward frequent bettors with bonuses, exclusive promotions, and even in-person benefits like free valet parking at retail sportsbooks. FanDuel’s lack of a loyalty program is a big miss, especially for high volume bettors.
FanDuel Refer-a-Friend Program
Registered FanDuel users can earn up to ten $50 refer-a-friend bonuses. For each friend who signs up and meets the qualification criteria, the referrer and the referred friend each receive a $50 sportsbook credit.
To get started, click the “Earn $$$” link in your account. Then, copy your unique referral link and send it to your friends.
Each friend who uses your link to visit FanDuel triggers the referral bonus when they successfully register an account and place a real-money bet of at least $10 within 28 days.
Once this condition is met, you and your friend will receive the referral bonus.
Users can refer up to 10 friends, for a potential total of $500 in site credits. BettingUSA ranks the FanDuel referral program near the top because it’s straightforward, rewards both people, and has reasonable qualification requirements.
How to Register A FanDuel Account
Legal online betting sites usually have convenient and easy registration processes, and FanDuel Sportsbook is no exception.
- Select the state from where you’d like to register an account.
- Players who already have a FanDuel Fantasy account can simply click “Already have a FanDuel Fantasy account” and log in. The DFS and sportsbook accounts will be automatically linked to the same email address.
- Otherwise, enter an email address, username, and password.
- Afterward, you’ll be asked to verify your identity by entering your full name, address, date of birth, phone number, and the last four digits of your SSN. You can also choose to enable two-factor authentication (recommended) at this time.
- Agree to the terms and conditions.
- Click or tap “Confirm Identity”
FanDuel Sportsbook conducts a swift but vigorous identity verification protocol. Once your info is validated, FanDuel will create your account, and you’ll be able to make an initial deposit.
Remember, FanDuel users must be at least 21 years of age to bet on sports online.
Tip: Your home address does not have to be located in the same state where you register or wager. You only have to be physically located in that state to place wagers.
FanDuel Sportsbook Deposit Options
FanDuel Sportsbook accepts a wide array of betting deposit options:

- Credit Card: FanDuel accepts Visa, Mastercard, and American Express credit cards. FanDuel does not charge a fee for credit card deposits, but bettors should be aware some issuing banks treat deposits to online betting sites as cash advances and charge additional fees. Some banks still automatically block deposits to online betting sites. Customers who have trouble depositing with a credit card should try FanDuel prepaid cards instead.
- Debit Card: Bettors can deposit at FanDuel Sportsbook with debit cards issued by Visa and Mastercard.
- FanDuel Prepaid Play+ Card: New users can sign up for a prepaid card by logging in to FanDuel and visiting the cashier. After signing up, sports bettors can fund their virtual cards instantly via VISA, MasterCard, or ACH. FanDuel will also send a physical card in the mail that players can use at ATMs or anywhere Discover is accepted.
- PayPal: Bettors can use PayPal to deposit at FanDuel. Customers must have a bank account linked to their personal PayPal account for this option to work.
- Venmo: Depositing at FanDuel using Venmo is one of the fastest and most convenient ways to fund accounts. At the moment, card transactions are not accepted; bettors must either use a linked bank account or Venmo balance.
- Apple Pay: Customers in select states can select Apple Pay for convenient, fast FanDuel Sportsbook deposits.
- Wire Transfers: Players can wire funds to from their checking account to FanDuel. Proof of funds is necessary for high-value deposits.
- Cash with PayNearMe: New users can select PayNearMe to deposit cash. After choosing PayNearMe, users input an amount to deposit and receive a pay ticket. Next, users can complete the transaction in person with cash at a nearby 7-Eleven, CVS, Family Dollar, or Casey’s. FanDuel PayNearMe deposits usually post to customers’ betting accounts within 15 minutes and have a limit of $500 per transaction.
- Game On Gift Card: FanDuel doesn’t have a branded gift card option, but it accepts Game On gift cards. Bettors can purchase Game On gift cards at thousands of retailers and load them with up to $400.
- Cash at the Counter: Fifteen retail FanDuel sportsbook locations accept cash-at-the-cage deposits for online sports betting accounts. For instance, New Jersey players can fund their accounts with cash at either The Meadowlands in East Rutherford or the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City. Other states that accept cash-at-the-counter FanDuel deposits include Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, Iowa, Colorado, Michigan, Illinois, and Arizona.
FanDuel Sportsbook Withdrawals
FanDuel Sportsbook offers a number of fast and convenient withdrawal methods. Withdrawal options can vary by state, but bettors can generally expect to see the following cashout options:

- FanDuel Prepaid Play+ Card: Users who already have FanDuel Play+ cards can withdraw funds directly to their cards. It takes roughly 24-48 hours to process prepaid card payouts, but once the process is completed, funds are immediately available.
- PayPal: FanDuel PayPal withdrawals are one of the quickest ways to receive funds. They’re available to bettors with personal PayPal accounts linked to a bank account and who have already used PayPal to initiate a successful deposit.
- Venmo: FanDuel Venmo withdrawals take up to 48 hours for approval, and bettors must have deposited with Venmo at least once before requesting a withdrawal.
- Cast at the Counter: FanDuel bettors can initiate a cash-at-the-counter withdrawal at a FanDuel retail sportsbook location to pick up their funds in cash. There is a $50 minimum withdrawal amount associated with this method, and transactions are processed in about an hour. Note that large transactions (over $10,000) may take up to 48 hours to process.
- Paper Check: Users can also request a paper check payout in the mail. Paper checks are the slowest FanDuel withdrawal method, taking approximately 7-10 business days.
FanDuel Sports Betting Review
FanDuel Sportsbook is one of the largest online sports betting sites, both in market share and geographic footprint. FanDuel has a presence in almost all states with legal sports betting, and in many of those states, the FanDuel Sportsbook app is the market leader.
Some of FanDuel’s sports betting success derives from its earlier years as a pure daily fantasy provider. FanDuel’s name recognition and massive customer database gave it a head start in every state.
Additionally, international gaming giant Flutter Entertainment owns 95% of FanDuel. Flutter Entertainment invests large amounts of capital into FanDuel Sportsbook advertising and technology.
FanDuel Betting Markets
FanDuel Sportsbook provides extensive betting options and ranks well in market depth.
FanDuel Sportsbook league coverage includes all major U.S. sports, college sports, and most international competitions. The entire list of sports FanDuel covers varies by season, but generally, it covers events big and small:
- Aussie Rules
- Baseball
- Basketball
- Boxing
- Cricket
- Cycling
- Darts
- Football
- Golf
- Ice Hockey
- MMA
- Motor Sports
- Rugby League
- Rugby Union
- Snooker
- Soccer
- Table Tennis
- Tennis
FanDuel offers most types of bets, with major pro sports like NFL and NBA offering the most wagering options. Less popular sports and events feature anywhere from a handful to a few dozen bets.
The most common types of bets FanDuel Sportsbook supports include:
- Moneylines: Pregame and in-play moneylines
- Spread: Including an enormous array of alternative spreads
- Totals: As is the case with its alternative spreads, FanDuel doesn’t back down from offering bettors dozens of alternative totals for major markets.
- Parlays: Traditional parlays are offered as well as round robins.
- Teasers: FanDuel offers a lot of teaser variety, allowing players to tease anywhere from 3 – 14 points (in half-point increments) for basketball and football. Too bad the site’s teaser pricing is poor, with betting odds on 2-team NFL teasers offered at -134 (6 pt.), -143 (6.5 pt.) and -150 (7 pt.).
- Pleasers: FanDuel is one of the few U.S. online sportsbooks with reverse teasers, or pleasers. Bettors can reverse tease from -4 to -5 points for basketball and -6 to -7 points for football in half-point increments.
- Futures: FanDuel offers futures bets on a wide range of outcomes. All the typical major market futures are covered, as well as some obscure ones, like Rugby League and Snooker World Championship futures.
Market depth for major U.S. sports and high-profile international events often extends into hundreds of betting options per game. FanDuel categorizes each game’s bet types in a tabbed system, allowing customers to sort open markets by type, such as game props, player props, first half, third quarter, and so on.
In short, FanDuel Sportsbook users can bet on almost every possible metric by which one could judge a team’s or player’s performance.
FanDuel Same Game Parlays
FanDuel was the pioneer of the screamingly popular same game parlay format. Since launching FanDuel same game parlays, most other online sportsbooks have followed suit, and today, same game parlays (SGPs) and SGP-focused promotions are everywhere.
Same game parlays at FanDuel Sportsbook work exactly how they sound, allowing sports bettors to create parlays with all legs taking place during a single game.
Same game parlays were once the forbidden fruit of the sports betting industry, but books have become more adept at accounting for the impact of correlation.
FanDuel currently offers SGPs for four markets: NFL, NBA, MLB, and Soccer.
If a game is SGP-eligible, FanDuel denotes it with a small, green SGP icon just below the game’s title.
Game lines, player props, and team props may all be SGP eligible. Bettors can easily locate which bets qualify by tapping into a game, and selecting “same game parlay” from the top navigation menu.
FanDuel was not just the first online sportsbook to offer same game parlays, but also continues to offer the best SGP product.
FanDuel Sportsbook’s same game parlays user interface is clean and intuitive, and FanDuel offers more same game parlay betting markets and bet types than any of its competitors.
FanDuel also displays the odds for each leg of single game parlays, enabling bettors to estimate the effect of correlation.
As icing on the cake, FanDuel Sportsbook offers a plethora of Single Game Parlay focused promotions, including SGP insurance and sometimes offers bonus bets to users who place SGPs.
FanDuel also has same game parlay+, allowing bettors to combine SGPs with single bets or SGPs from other games.
All that said, same game parlays are juiced more than regular parlay bets, and the more legs a FanDuel same game parlay has, the higher the juice.
Since it’s difficult to directly calculate the juice of FanDuel same game parlays, bettors should take extreme caution when placing them.
FanDuel Live In-Play Betting
FanDuel Sportsbook offers live in-play betting for dozens of games per day, including all professional U.S. sports, high-profile college games, and many international sports such as tennis and soccer.
FanDuel live betting options include wagers on the game’s outcome, short-term bets such as the outcome of the next drive in an NFL game, who will win the next set in a tennis match, and so on.
Put simply, the FanDuel live betting market depth is extensive. Usually, bettors can choose from dozens of daily in-play straight bets, player props, and game props throughout the game.
The FanDuel Sportsbook in-play betting interface also provides live streaming video, live game trackers, or both for some events. Real-time stats are also available for some leagues.
Many FanDuel live betting markets also support early cashout bets, which allow users to close their bets early at reduced odds. For example, bettors can lock in a win when the game appears to be going well or cut their losses if the game has taken a turn for the worse.
Tip: Sharp bettors don’t recommend using the early cash out feature. Who wants to pay juice twice?
FanDuel Sports Betting App Review
FanDuel offers dedicated mobile betting apps for iOS and Android devices. Users can download the FanDuel app from any state to view the lines, make deposits, and manage their accounts, but must be physically located in a state where FanDuel Sportsbook operates to place wagers.
The FanDuel Sportsbook app prioritizes easy navigation, with a row of icons near the top of the screen to visit the live betting tab, refer friends, and view the latest promotions.
The main betting area occupies most of the screen, and users can sort by league and view all betting markets for specific games.
Immediately after users log in, the FanDuel mobile app homepage displays the day’s most popular games and promotions. It’s a simple layout, so bettors will easily find the markets they are looking for.
The FanDuel app also provides a notifications button users can tap to view updates and announcements. For example, a bettor may log in and find notifications for a new deposit bonus, an upcoming NFL game, a high-profile tennis match, or an update on a new feature.
Something the FanDuel Sportsbook app does well is intuitively organizing a lot of information.
Bettors can find thousands of bets at any given time, but they can use the FanDuel betting app to quickly drill down to a specific sport and market.
FanDuel Live Streaming Sports
FanDuel Sportsbook introduced live streaming sports broadcasts in 2019 and has steadily expanded its lineup since. Today, FanDuel has deals in place with sports data providers Sportradar and IMG Arena to deliver live video from numerous sports, including:
- NHL games
- Mid-level tennis matches, French Open, and the Australian Open
- International soccer matches
- Table tennis
- International ice hockey
- Darts
The addition of NHL streaming marked the first instance of a sportsbook gaining the approval of a major US sports league to live-stream its games.
Note: FanDuel Customers cannot stream local games due to broadcasting blackout restrictions.
FanDuel Sportsbook customers can watch live streams for free if they have funds in their accounts or have placed a wager on the event.
FanDuel TV Network
FanDuel has dabbled in TV broadcasting since it entered the sports betting business. It vastly expanded the concept in 2022 by rebranding the TVG horse racing network to FanDuel TV, establishing a sports-first network that’s available nationwide.
The move immediately brought FanDuel TV content to 60 million homes via existing TVG distribution channels, plus access to even more viewers through various streaming platforms.
In a press release, FanDuel announced it intended to bring on former NFL Network host Kay Adams to headline the FanDuel TV network with a live morning show Monday through Friday.
The release also explained that FanDuel TV would begin “delivering more live sports programming than any other network in America,” starting immediately.
Other FanDuel TV programming includes content from Bill Simmons’ The Ringer Network and Pat McAfee of the PMI Network.
In addition, FanDuel launched a streaming platform appropriately titled FanDuel+ to deliver even more free content to FanDuel customers.
As for live sports, FanDuel has a partnership with Sportradar to air “more than 3,000 hours” of live sports from around the world on FanDuel TV and FanDuel+.
The pivot from TVG to FanDuel TV did not leave racing fans out in the cold, however. FanDuel TV will continue to provide horse racing programming and “unmatched coverage” of major events like the Breeders’ Cup.
FanDuel also rebranded TVG 2 to FanDuel Racing, where it continues to focus entirely on horse racing and pari-mutuel wagering.
FanDuel Customer Service Review
Users in need of assistance can visit FanDuel’s Help & Support page from the account menu.
There, they’ll find a plethora of topics such as account info, deposits and withdrawals, player rewards, and types of bets offered.
There are a few nice touches, like a full list of FanDuel retail sportsbook locations and hours, and detailed info on how to enable location services on mobile devices.
Bettors looking for more specific answers must contact FanDuel customer support through one of the following means:
- Email: Users can either email FanDuel directly at sportsbook@fanduel.com, or they can fill out a short form detailing their problem.
- Live Chat: To access Live Chat, players must provide their full name, email, state, the product in question, and a description of their issue. Then they’ll have to suffer through the “FanDuel Coach,” which is a bot designed to help players find quick answers (it rarely works), before they can speak to a real person.
- Phone: Phone support is available from 9 am – 8 pm EST. Unfortunately, FanDuel customer support does not provide bettors with a direct line. Instead, they must fill out a form to request a callback.
Using FanDuel support should be reserved as a last resort, as the experience is frustrating. Callbacks often take hours, live chat queues are much longer than industry averages, and, in our experience, emails are not answered for at least 12 hours and often longer.
FanDuel Sportsbook customer service agents, while friendly and eager, often don’t know the answers to more in-depth questions, leading to long back and forths. Management sometimes has to get involved.
In fairness, FanDuel Sportsbook is a U.S. online sports betting market share leader, so wait times are expected. However, the FanDuel customer support team appears to be severely understaffed, and it seems questionable whether FanDuel is providing agents with enough training.
States Where FanDuel Sportsbook Operates
FanDuel Sportsbook is pursuing an aggressive expansion policy nationwide. If a state has legal sports betting, FanDuel quickly pursues a presence there. Below, readers can see where FanDuel currently operates retail sportsbooks, mobile betting apps, or both.
FanDuel Sportsbook League Partnerships
Although professional sports leagues initially opposed legalizing sports betting, they quickly embraced sportsbook operators after the Supreme Court overturned PASPA.
In all likelihood, the leagues’ decisions to approve daily fantasy partnerships with FanDuel back in 2014/2015 set the stage for future relationships after the legalization of sports betting.
FanDuel now has official partnerships with many sports leagues and individual teams for branding and data purposes.
Since FanDuel entered the sports betting business in 2018, it has reached several high-profile league partnership agreements:
- FanDuel and the NBA: FanDuel and the NBA have an agreement in place allowing FanDuel to use certain NBA trademarks and rely on official data from the league. The NBA was the first professional sports league to establish a sports betting partnership with FanDuel.
- FanDuel and the NHL: FanDuel is “an official betting partner” of the NHL. Under this agreement, FanDuel Sportsbook relies on official data from the league and allows the league input on the types of NHL wagers accepted by FanDuel. The New Jersey Devils also have a separate agreement with FanDuel for branding and advertising.
- FanDuel and the MLB: In 2019, the MLB became the third major pro sports league to reach a formal sports betting agreement with FanDuel. As “an Authorized Gaming Operator of MLB,” FanDuel has access to league data along with the right to use MLB trademarks and logos.
- FanDuel and the NFL: FanDuel became an Official Sports Betting Partner of the NFL in April 2021. As part of the multi-year agreement, FanDuel is permitted to integrate its betting content into NFL media properties to leverage the power of the NFL brand at its online sportsbooks and retail betting locations.
FanDuel Online Casino
FanDuel offers online casino games in Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
Players in states with legal online gambling can try the games from within the FanDuel Sportsbook app or the standalone casino app for iOS and Android.
FanDuel Casino continually expands its lineup of slots, table games, live dealer games, and more.
FanDuel Daily Fantasy Sports
FanDuel launched daily fantasy sports in 2009, quickly becoming a leading DFS operator.
Funding rounds and relentless advertising campaigns put FanDuel.com at the forefront of daily fantasy in the USA, a position it maintains today.
During its early years, FanDuel DFS faced numerous existential threats. Ballooning operating expenses, hostile state attorneys general, and federal investigations from the DOJ and FBI all threatened to derail FanDuel.
However, FanDuel overcame every nearly ever legal challenge that came its way and now offers legal fantasy sports contests in most states.
FanDuel Racing
FanDuel offers legal online horse racing betting in the USA through a separate app and website.
The FanDuel Racing app is available in more than half the United States and covers races at more than 300 tracks worldwide. FanDuel Racing is relatively young compared to its established advance wagering rivals, but it delivers a more modern and intuitive experience that customers will find easy to become acquainted with.

Existing FanDuel customers can log in with the same account information they use for other products, new users can sign up from within the FanDuel Faceoff app.
