Wildwood Casino in Cripple Creek operates a retail sportsbook and Colorado sports betting app for customers who are 21 or older and located within state lines.

Colorado’s Limited Gaming Control Commission (LGCC) approved Wildwood Casino for in-person and online sports betting licenses in April 2020 and BetWildwood.com launched that July. Today, customers may visit the BetWildwood website or download mobile apps for iOS and Android to bet online from anywhere in Colorado.

BetWildwood Sportsbook offers standard pregame wagers plus in-play betting for all customers in partnership with ISI Race & Sports out of Nevada. Thus far, the partnership has yielded positive results with a mobile app and website that accept wagers on all major US sports, international leagues and college games.

With LGCC approval in hand, BetWildwood operates as a licensed operator and is required by law to provide customers with certain protections to ensure timely payouts, fair promotions and the protection of private information. Security wise, BetWildwood appears solid on all counts.

Now that the BetWildwood Sportsbook app is live and we’ve had a chance to give it a test drive for ourselves, we present our thoughts below. The remainder of our BetWildwood review will discuss the new customer welcome bonus, sports covered and markets offered, the in-play betting experience, mobile app quality and more.

BetWildwood Promo Code

BetWildwood Sportsbook offers new users a free bet worth up to $250 but only if they make their first deposit via Skrill.

New customers can claim the offer by using the BetWildwood promo code when making their first deposit. Afterwards, bettors can place their first wager and receive a 100% refund worth up to $250 if it loses.

The BetWildwood bonus is smaller than most, and many bettors will likely find the Skrill requirement annoying. Skrill is an e-wallet that functions like PayPal but with more of a focus on serving the legal betting market. As a result, claiming the bonus is a cumbersome process because customers must sign up for a BetWildwood account, then sign up for a Skrill account, and then make their first deposit.

New users must meet two qualifications to claim the bonus:

• Their first wager must be placed at odds of -250 or greater (e.g., -250, -110, +120, etc.)
• They must place their first bet within seven days of making their first deposit

Other BetWildwood Sportsbook Promotions

The BetWildwood mobile app strikes a reasonable balance between simplicity and functionality. Design-wise, the app will likely appeal to some users and not others.

The app does not look particularly sleek or polished, but the color scheme and layout maximize readability. It is easy to see what’s available, what the odds are and where to tap to navigate. Additionally, loading times are minimal and everything is organized in a logical manner.

The BetWildwood app does not provide live streaming video but does offer a plethora of stats for most games. Users can look up each team’s head-to-head record and current standings, view the current game’s stats and keep up to date with live data feeds during in-play betting events.

BetWildwood In-Play Betting

The in-play betting experience at BetWildwood is very strong in some respects but still lags some of Colorado’s other major sportsbooks in terms of betting options for each event.

For comparison’s sake, we looked at an in-play MLB event covered by BetWildwood and BetRivers.

The in-play betting options for that game offered by BetWildwood consisted of five markets:

• Moneyline
• Innings 1-5 point spread
• Innings 1-5 point total
• Full game point total
• 5^th inning point total
• 4^th inning point spread

Meanwhile, BetRivers offered 67 unique markets for that same game covering a full range of game outcomes plus props and continuous “instant betting” markets allowing users to bet on the outcome of every pitch.

The key takeaway here is that BetWildwood covers the main types of bets but does not go into any great detail. Bettors who want to bet on every pitch of the game would be better served elsewhere.

On a more positive note, BetWildwood boasts an excellent in-play betting interface that is full of statistics, live game data and even winning percentage predictions. When viewing an in-play betting event through the BetWildwood app or website, customers are provided free access to past stats, current league standings for each team, stats on key players and a play-by-play data feed.

BetWildwood Colorado also provides data visualization for many events, which allow users to view the location of every pitch, location of the ball on the field and more. If BetWildwood Sportsbook adds more in-play betting markets, it will rank competitively among the state’s biggest betting operators.

BetWildwood Betting Markets

BetWildwood accepts wagers on the most popular types of sports and provides a standard variety of bet types but comes up a bit short in market depth compared to some of its more established competitors.

The types of bets available are adequate for pre-game betting, but the in-play betting options can be sparse as we’ll explain below. Common types of wagers offered by BetWildwood include:

• Point spread, moneyline and total
• Winning margin
• Inning/quarter/half outcomes and totals
• Player props
• Team props
• Game props
• 3-way moneylines
• Race to X points
• Futures

Sports coverage includes all major professional US sports, college sports and a fair number of international leagues such as Canadian football, Chinese basketball and even Korean baseball. Other offerings include tennis, golf, international soccer, boxing, MMA, NASCAR, F1, cycling, darts, rugby, cricket and other events depending on the time of year.

BetWildwood Sportsbook Deposit Methods

BetWildwood is a bit short on deposit methods but most customers should find at least one of these options fitting for their needs.

• Play+ Card: Play+ is a deposit method that functions partly as an e-wallet and partly as a prepaid debit card. Customers can sign up for a Play+ account online and then load it with funds via credit card, debit card and eCheck for a same-day deposit. After signing up and depositing, customers also receive a physical Play+ card by mail that is attached to their Play+ balance. The card can be used to make purchases where Discover is accepted and to withdraw cash at ATMs.
• Credit or Debit Card: Customers may fund their account via personal credit card or debit card for an instant deposit (Visa and Mastercard).
• VIP Preferred (eCheck): Anyone with a personal bank account can sign up for a VIP Preferred account from within the BetWildwood cashier to transfer funds instantly from their bank account to their betting account.

About Wildwood Casino

Wildwood Casino opened its doors in 2008 and reigns as the largest casino in Cripple Creek with 43,000 square feet and bills itself as “the highest casino in the world” at 9,593 feet above sea level.

Expert Opinion: Is BetWildwood Legit?

BetWildwood is the official online sportsbook of Cripple Creek’s Wildwood Casino. As such, it is a legitimate and licensed operator. Although BetWildwood is one of the nation’s smallest online sportsbooks in terms of handle and name recognition, it has the technical know how to operate a secure betting site as evidenced by the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission’s decision to award it a sports betting license.

However, BettingUSA recommends alternative sportsbooks for Colorado bettors. BetWildwood is safe, but it comes up short in terms of promotions, betting markets, and customer support.
