BetMGM Parlay Builder: Custom, Same Game Parlays

BetMGM Sportsbook expanded its parlay betting features this morning with the launch of Parlay Builder by Betgenius.

BetMGM Parlay Builder allows bettors to build custom, same-game parlays across more than 400 bet types, including game outcomes, game props, team props, and player props with custom odds generated on the fly.

In a press release, Genius Sports described Parlay Builder as “the most sophisticated, wide-ranging same game parlay builder in the U.S. market.”

BetMGM CMO Matt Prevost described Parlay Builder as an easy-to-use feature that will be popular among bettors of all types as they have witnessed for similar products in European markets.

Parlay Builder gives our pre-game betting offering another dimension; it’s engaging, easy-to-use and extensive, therefore appealing to serious and recreational bettors alike. We’ve witnessed the success of BetBuilder in Europe and anticipate a similar trajectory in the U.S.

Parlay Builder is now available for select NFL, NBA, and MLS games, and says support for MLB and NHL is coming soon.

How BetMGM Parlay Builder Works

Parlay Builder is designed to simplify the process of building same game parlays from among hundreds of possible selections for each leg of the wager.

It does so by providing an integrated interface into the BetMGM website and mobile app for games that support Parlay Builder. Customers can select the Parlay Builder tab from within any supported game to launch the builder, which organizes selections by categories such as popular, game props, team props, and player props.

From there, customers can browse the options and tap to add selections to their parlays. Parlay Builder also displays how much each selection will add to the parlay’s odds, allowing users to see the impact of each selection before adding it to the slip.

BetMGM customers can see which games are supported by looking for the Parlay Builder badge displayed next to supported games from any league page on the BetMGM app or website.

BetMGM Parlay Builder Is Based On A Proven Concept

Andrew Patterson, VP of US Business Development at Betgenius, spoke with Steve Ruddock last year on the launch of custom bet products such as Parlay Builder in the US market.

In that interview, Patterson described the forthcoming product and what it would mean for customers, sportsbook operators, and the industry in general.

BetBuilder is a pre-match product that allows bettors to instantly create and bet on their own unique same-game-parlays. These kinds of products give players hundreds of markets to choose from on every game, including game results, team and player markets. All possibilities and outcomes are fully modeled, meaning players can watch their odds grow as they build a ‘story’ around the game.

Parlays have always been popular, but players have historically been limited to choosing the side and total of a single event or outcomes of various games. The shift the industry is now seeing means players can intensify this engagement on a single game.

Patterson told BettingUSA that his company’s decision to launch custom bet builder products in the US is motivated largely by the success of similar products in the UK and European markets.

He also explained that Betgenius began exploring the idea of build-a-bet products after witnessing online sportsbooks offer custom odds to customers via Twitter. The manual request-a-bet concept has proven popular, but it is a manpower-intensive product that requires wagers to be individually approved and priced.

Parlay Builder builds on the concept by automating the process, giving customers hundreds of same-game options to choose from. With Parlay Builder, odds pricing is automated, and customers do not need to wait for an approval that may or may not come.
