ProphetX Review and Referral Code
ProphetX is a legal peer-to-peer sports exchange where fans make predictions among themselves rather than against the house. Although it’s far from the first sports exchange to launch in the US, it was the first with nearly nationwide availability thanks to its unique business model.
The ProphetX exchange platform offers multiple benefits compared to traditional online sportsbooks, most notably less commission and the ability for users to set their own odds.
However, the sports exchange format also has downsides. Read on for BettingUSA’s full ProphetX review to decide if it’s right for you.

ProphetX Overview
ProphetX prediction markets occur between users who have taken opposite positions.
For example, if you wager that the Cowboys will beat the Titans, someone else has backed the opposite outcome.
Fans can treat ProphetX like a conventional sportsbook or take matters into their own hands and become the oddsmaker by setting their own prices.
Users can request any price they want, but their bets only go through if someone else wants to take the opposite side of the wager at that price.
Set the odds too much in your favor, and your bet will likely go unmatched. But set the odds too far in the other direction, and you’ll be giving up value to other users.

ProphetX Bonus
New ProphetX customers receive 1.5% of match Prophet Cash volume back as a Prophet Cash bonus. After you sign up and make your first purchase, you’ll earn 1.5% on your trading volume for up to 200 Prophet Cash.
The ProphetX bonus works differently than most welcome offers. Instead of receiving a one-time bonus based on their first purchase, new users earn the bonus by executing trades. It doesn’t matter how much you purchase and whether you win or lose: 1.5% of your trading volume generates Prophet Cash bonus funds.
Prophet Cash is redeemable after playing through it one time, which is a very reasonable play-through requirement.
In summary:
- Sign up for an account and make your first purchase
- Earn 1.5% of your Prophet Cash trading volume as a bonus
- You have 30 days to earn as much Prophet Cash bonus as possible
- You’ll receive the bonus after 30 days or when you’ve reached 200 in Prophet Cash bonus (whichever comes first?)

How ProphetX Works
ProphetX offers moneylines, spreads, totals, and other bet types like other sportsbooks. However, ProphetX is unlike a typical sportsbook in two key aspects.
ProphetX Currencies Explained
ProphetX offers prediction markets based on two in-game currencies: Prophet Points and Prophet Cash. Fans can flip a switch on the ProphetX interface to toggle between Prophet Points and Prophet Cash modes.
Prophet Points
- No cash value
- Used for fun and bragging rights
- Can be purchased
Prophet Cash
- Acquired through one of the methods outlined below
- Can be redeemed for cash prizes
- Cannot be purchased
How to Get Prophet Cash
Fans can acquire Prophet Cash by making successful predictions or through one of the following four methods:
How to Make Predictions on ProphetX
ProphetX makes it easy to make predictions. Sports fans can get started in four steps:
- Visit prophetx.co
- Sign up for an account
- Get Prophet Cash using one of the methods detailed above
- Browse all open markets and select a prediction to back
- Input an amount to wager
Creating a market with custom odds is almost as easy. The only thing users need to do differently is manually input the odds they want in the bet slip. That will create an outstanding market at those odds, and the bet will lock in when another user takes the opposite side.
In both types of plays (taking existing odds or requesting custom odds), users can get partial matches.
For example, if a market only has $100 in liquidity and a user places a $200 bet, half their wager will be matched immediately. Prophet will then place the inverse of that bet as odds that other users can take to match the rest of the outstanding wager.
ProphetX Interface Explained
ProphetX looks like a typical sportsbook but with a few additional features.
One of the most noticeable differences is that ProphetX displays liquidity figures next to each market. That’s the current amount of Prophet Points or Prophet Cash available to be matched at those odds.
That number tells bettors how much action is available for that market, which is also the maximum bet size for that wager at that time.
For example, the screenshot below shows how much Prophet Cash is available to match on the Los Angeles Angels and Toronto Blue Jays at each price.
So, someone planning to back the Angels at +138 can see that there’s 601 Prophet Cash. If they choose any amount up to 601, their play will be instantly accepted. Any bet larger than that would result in the first 601 Prophet Cash matched, with the rest placed into the market for other users to match.
As game day approaches and liquidity grows, the amount available to bet on the game at those prices increases accordingly.
ProphetX Sports Covered
ProphetX covers the world’s most popular sports but lacks markets for niche sports. In short, ProphetX is best suited for the major US professional and college sports leagues.
Currently, ProphetX consistently covers the following sports and leagues:
- MLB
- MLS
- NHL
- NBA
- NFL
- NCAA Football
- NCAA Basketball
- UFC
- International Soccer (English Premier League, French Ligue 1, Spanish La Liga, German Bundesliga, Italian Serie A, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League)
ProphetX’s mainstay markets include pregame and in-play moneylines, spreads, and totals for the above leagues.
In addition, ProphetX offers occasional markets for PGA and DP World Tour golf tournaments.
ProphetX will likely expand the number of sports it covers and introduce new market types as it gains customers and liquidity increases. A terms and conditions page on the ProphetX website with rules for additional sports, including tennis and boxing, may be a preview of future developments.

Prophet Exchange FAQ
Expert Opinion: Is ProphetX Legit?
ProphetX is a legitimate sweepstakes sports operator with a verifiable track record.
The company behind ProphetX initially launched under the “Prophet Exchange” brand and acquired a New Jersey online sports betting license in 2022. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement investigated Prophet Exchange’s business plan, financials, and key personnel and found it suitable for an online sportsbook license.
However, Prophet Exchange struggled to maintain liquidity in the highly regulated US sports betting market, so it temporarily paused all operations. Prophet Exchange reinvented itself during the downtime, converted to a sweepstakes business model, and relaunched as ProphetX.
Now, it’s a matter of seeing if ProphetX can thrive under the sweepstakes model and maintain enough liquidity to sustain its prediction markets.
The question fans should ask themselves is if ProphetX fits their needs. Fans who prioritize getting the best odds possible and minimizing the house commission should consider signing up for a Prophet Betting Exchange account.
However, bettors who prioritize league coverage, market depth, parlays, and full-featured apps may want to look elsewhere. In its current iteration, Prophet Exchange competes primarily on its pricing, lack of betting limits, and the novelty of creating one’s own wagers for other users to take.
