Parent company Kindred Group has a long history in serving international markets and now ranks as one of the world’s largest online betting operators. Kindred Group is not well-known in the US today, but that will be changing soon as it seeks to expand its footprint in the growing US market.
The Kindred Group is headquartered in Malta and has offices around the world that serve an estimated 20 million people. What this means for players in the USA is they’ll be playing with a provider that is highly experienced in managing mobile sportsbooks and casinos.
The Kindred Group operates a number of other brands such as Bingo.com, 32Red, Maria Casino and a handful of Nordic-focused casino sites. Of the brands that operate under the Kindred umbrella, Unibet is the brand best known for sports betting. It has a name that translates well to US English and is described as “the premium all-product brand in the Group” on the Kindred Group website.
Unibet in particular is one of the bigger international betting sites on the market today. A reputation for fast payouts and a slick mobile betting interface have helped to establish Unibet as a major player in online gambling.
With all that said, Unibet will be facing stiff competition in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana and elsewhere as it enters what is quickly becoming a competitive online gaming landscape. The remainder of today’s Unibet review will focus on the actual experience for players and consider how it compares to other established betting sites.
Unibet Sportsbook Review
Unibet Sportsbook is now live in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The company’s past operations in other countries turned out to be an accurate predictor of the Unibet approach to sports betting in the USA. Namely, this is a betting site whose competitive advantage is extensive betting options covering an entire world of sports.
The number of wagers Unibet has on offer on any given day is well above the industry average. For example, a quick look at the international soccer section on the day this review was written showed more than 51,000 individual wagers open for action.
That is in addition to nearly 1,200 football wagers (on a non-game weekday), more than 1,000 baseball wagers and hundreds more for each of the world’s major sports.
Pro games and major international events are covered with a diverse variety of wager types. Standard moneylines, point spreads, totals, futures and in-play betting are offered by default along with alternate lines, game props, player props, first half/second half markets, winning margin, first scorer, last scorer and more.
Unibet Bonuses and Promotions
Unibet welcomes new customers with a two-part welcome bonus and rewards those who stick around with ongoing promotions that change regularly.
New Customers: $30 in Free Bets + $600 Risk Free Bet
New player offer in summary:
- Sign up for an account to get three free $10 wagers
- Make a first deposit of $10 or more
- If your first wager loses, Unibet will issue a refund of up to $600
Signing up for a new account will get you three free bets worth $10 each that you can use to try the sportsbook before making a deposit. If you like what you see and go on to deposit, Unibet will refund the first wager you make with your own money if it loses (up to $600 back).
A quick read of the terms and conditions attached to each bonus reveals nothing concerning. The free bets may be used on any type of wager and any winnings may be withdrawn. The only thing worth noting is your free bets are not included in any potential winnings.
The $600 risk free offer is also free of any problematic terms. The offer is exactly as it sounds: place your first wager and get a refund if it loses. Unlike other sportsbooks, Unibet does not require customers to rollover the bonus X number of times before withdrawing. The most important thing to know about this offer is your first deposit must be at least $10 to be eligible for a risk-free bet.

Ongoing sportsbook promotions at Unibet change regularly in line with the sport of the season. At the time this review was written, Unibet had two promotions running for existing customers – both involving parlays and neither particularly enticing.
- $100K Parlay Offer: Place a six-team pro sports parlay for $10 or more and if every leg wins by an additional 9.5-point margin on top of the regular spread, Unibet will give you a $100,000 bonus on top of your parlay winnings.
- Weekly Parlay Boost: The weekly parlay boosts 3-leg parlay payouts by 10%, 4-leg parlays by 20% and 5-leg+ parlays by 30% if every selection in your slip has odds of -500 or better. The value of this promo was significantly weakened with customers able to wager no more than $25 to qualify and the maximum parlay bonus limited to $5,000.

Software and Interface
The betting interface is organized in a manner similar to other major sportsbooks with a list of sports along the left side and all open wagers displayed prominently in the middle of the screen.
The desktop Unibet website uses a three-column display showing leagues in the far-left column, individual games in the second column from the left and wagers for the selected game in the middle for quick navigation. Meanwhile, the Unibet mobile app uses a standard screen-by-screen navigation setup to save space. In summary, there are no problem areas with navigation.
Selecting any individual wager creates a digital betting slip that is used to size wagers, create parlays and see how much you have at risk for every pending wager. This makes it possible to see all pending bets at a glance and make changes as needed.
The underlying software platform of Unibet Sportsbook is powered by the Kambi Group. The Kambi Group was once a B2B subsidiary of Kindred but was spun off as an independent company in 2014. Unibet still relies on Kambi to power its sports betting software today.
On a side note, the Kambi Group also supplies the software that powers DraftKings Sportsbook in New Jersey. The Kambi Group is more than capable of delivering an engaging experience for sports bettors in the USA.

Unibet Mobile App Review
Unibet launched online casino games first through a mobile app released in 2019 and added sports betting as an extension of the existing app. This means current Unibet customers do not need to download a new app to bet on sports.
For everyone else, you can find the mobile sportsbook in the App Store or Google Play Store by searching for “Unibet Casino.” Alternatively, you can point your mobile browser to nj.unibet.com for a mobile-friendly version of the website.
The mobile website is comparable to the actual download app in terms of usability, loading speeds and features. The app seems to run a bit faster and make better use of screen real estate, but the differences between the two are minor.
Our experience with the Unibet iOS app has been generally positive with no obvious problem areas to report. The app itself is just a straightforward list of leagues, open wagers and a handful of menu options to view popular wagers and current in-play betting events.
The mobile app supports all in-play betting features as well, including digital “streams” that show representations of where the ball is and how the action is unfolding.

Unibet maintains an active in-play betting schedule that covers the major pro sports leagues plus golf, tennis, soccer and other events based on demand.
On the evening this review was written, Unibet was taking in-play wagers on four soccer games, four tennis matches, seven basketball games, seven baseball games, two esports competitions and one NFL game.
The in-play interface provides live stats and scoring data and animated graphics that approximate what’s actually happening on the field or court. For example, NFL games come with a screen showing current yardage and the outcome of each play while soccer games show who has the ball and who’s attacking.
Depending on the event, Unibet sometimes gets even more detailed in providing live updates. For example, we were able to find a soccer match that didn’t just show who had possession; it actually showed where the ball was on the field at all times as it was passed from player to player.
In-play betting options include the usual game outcome wagers, game totals, next team to score and extra-short-term wagers Unibet files under the “Action Betting” category. Action betting markets typically resolve within 60 seconds and deal with things like the outcome of the next at-bat in a baseball game or play in an NFL game.
One small change Unibet could make to significantly improve the in-play betting experience would be to add a calendar of upcoming events. It is frustrating to visit the in-play area and have no clue whether or not a particular game will be covered. It’s not hard to guess Unibet will be covering all the major pro sports games, but it would be nice to have a full schedule for all the other events out there.
Unibet Casino Review
Kindred Group made its grand debut in the United States when it opened Unibet Casino NJ in mid-2019. On day one, Unibet Casino launched with about 250 casino games on offer consisting of a mix of 237 slots and eight table games.
This is clearly a heavily slots-focused gaming site for now and the table game selection pales in comparison to the competition, but it seems to be standard operating procedure for new gambling sites to launch with a limited selection of games early on before expanding the lineup in ensuing months.
Play money versions of every game can be played for free at the Unibet website with no registration needed. All you have to do is visit Unibet.com, choose a game and confirm you’re at least 21.
Unibet Casino Bonus
$25 No-Deposit Bonus Plus 200% up to $500
The Unibet welcome bonus package comes in two parts that include $25 just for signing up plus an extra 200% up to $500 after making your first deposit. Use the bonus code UNIBET200 when making your first deposit to claim the 200% bonus.
The no-deposit bonus comes with fairly steep wagering requirements, so buyer beware. This one is not free money. The first deposit bonus, however, comes with wagering requirements that are much easier to meet.
A look through the list of slots on offer shows titles from a variety of game studios such as NetEnt, NextGen, SG Digital, Bally, High 5 Games, Side City Studios and more. Between these various providers, you’ll find graphically-intense video slots, traditional reel games and everything in between.
Although the total selection here isn’t as big as you’ll find at some other licensed casinos, the variety offers a balanced mix of popular online titles alongside some of the exact same slots you’ll find on the gaming floor at your local land-based casino.
Minimum bets start from as low as $0.01 per spin and go up from there to an eye-watering $500 per spin.
Table Games at Unibet Casino
The table games lineup leaves quite a bit to be desired at this point. With just eight table games on offer, the variety just isn’t up to par compared to the competition. The entire table game collection consists of three blackjack variations, four roulette variations and three card poker.
This is arguably the biggest miss for Unibet Casino so far – more table games are desperately needed. A lack of craps, Pai Gow Poker and other casino staples will leave table game players feeling forgotten.
Accepted bet sizes range from $0.10 at the low end to $5,000 at the high end depending on the game.
Table Game Screenshots
Live Dealer Games
Unibet Casino does offer any live dealer table games, but this should be remedied sooner or later. In 2018, Unibet announced a partnership with Evolution Gaming to deliver live dealer games to players straight from a studio located in New Jersey.
Assuming that deal is still in place, live dealer games should be coming any day now. We’ve had a taste of Evolution Gaming tables through services it provides to HardRockCasino.com and the experience over there has been top-notch to date.
Unibet Mobile App
Unibet offers no mobile compatibility whatsoever at this early stage. The Unibet website states mobile apps for iOS and Android users are in development now, but no timeline is given.
Even worse, real money play is not offered through the mobile-friendly Unibet website. The only way to play real money games right now by visiting Unibet.com from a desktop computer.
Unibet Deposit Methods
Unibet USA accepts a standard range of deposit methods that can be completed online or in-person. These include:
- Credit and Debit Card: Mastercard and Visa are accepted. Some card issuers still automatically block online gaming transactions, but any of the other deposit methods described below should work fine.
- Online Bank Transfer: This option uses your bank’s online bill pay feature to authorize a transfer of funds from your bank to your Unibet account. This method only works for customers who have accounts with Bank of America, BB&T, Chase, HSBC, ING Direct, PNC, Regions, SunTrust, TD Bank, US Bank, Capital One 360 and New York Community Bank.
- PayNearMe: Use this option if you’d prefer to use cash rather than sharing your banking details with Unibet. Choosing PayNearMe will give you a unique barcode that can be printed or saved on your mobile device. Take the barcode to one of the many pharmacies and convenience stars that accept PayNearMe to complete your deposit with cash.
- PayPal: Unibet accepts PayPal, but you need to have a bank account linked to your PayPal account. Unibet does not accept credit and debit card deposits made through PayPal.
- eCheck: eCheck works a lot like the online bill pay option discussed above but works with any US bank. You do not need to have a bill pay feature attached to your account; just submit your banking details and confirm the amount.
- Unibet Prepaid Play+ Card: This is a custom prepaid debit card issued by Unibet that you can fund online and use to make instant deposits. After your first deposit, you’ll get a physical card in the mail that can also be used at local ATMs for cash or to make purchases anywhere Discover is accepted.
Unibet States of Operation
Unibet is active in two states but has plans to launch in additional states over the near and medium terms. A 10-year partnership agreement with Caesars Entertainment grants Unibet access to the Indiana and Iowa markets, with potentially more states to be added in the future.
