Idaho Lottery
The Idaho Lottery boasts a large game selection and no shortage of playing options, including self-serve kiosks featuring arcade instant win games. Players can also buy Idaho Lottery tickets online via lottery couriers that purchase official tickets on behalf of customers.
Idaho’s $400+ million in annual lottery sales produce about $70 million in revenue for Idaho Public Schools and the Permanent Building Fund. Since its launch in 1989, the Idaho Lottery has paid more than $3 billion in prizes to players and contributed more than $1.2 billion to Idaho’s public schools and buildings.
Idaho has an outsized influence on the US lottery landscape. With just over 1.8 million citizens, the state of Idaho is smaller than the country’s six biggest cities. However, the Idaho lottery is a model of success, boasting high participation rates among adults, minimal operating costs (just a cent or two per dollar played goes to administration), and a consistent revenue producer for public education.
The Idaho Lottery also has a track record of innovation. The Idaho Lottery was the first to offer second-chance drawings for instant win tickets, the first to host a VIP club rewarding loyal customers with merchandise and other offers, and the first to allow players to donate a portion of their winnings to non-profit organizations.
Instant scratch tickets remain the most popular Idaho Lottery games and account for about 60% of all revenue. Idaho’s pull-tab games are the smallest in terms of revenue, producing about 1% of the state’s lottery income. Multi-state draw games are also big sellers, with Powerball and Mega Millions leading the pack.
Idaho Online Lottery
The Idaho Lottery only offers ticket sales at licensed retailers and instant win games via self-serve TouchTab machines.
However, players can play the Idaho Lottery online via Jackpocket, a third-party courier app that buys physical lottery tickets from licensed retailers.
The Jackpocket Lottery app launched for Idaho customers in 2022 after receiving a retailer’s license through its Winners Corner location on West Emerald Street in Boise.
Idaho Lottery players can order tickets on the Jackpocket app from anywhere in the state. Small winnings are paid directly into Jackpocket accounts, and big winners can pick up their physical tickets at Winners Corner if they win a larger prize that requires them to claim it in person.
The Jackpocket Idaho app supports the following lottery games:
- Idaho Powerball
- Idaho Mega Millions
- Lucky for Life
- Lotto America
- Idaho Cash
- Pick 3
- Pick 4
