BetWildwood Review (CLOSED)

Notice: BetWildwood.com is no longer operational. Fertitta Entertainment acquired Wildwood Casino in 2022 and rebranded it as Golden Nugget Cripple Creek. BettingUSA will no longer update this review.

Wildwood Casino (now Golden Nugget Cripple Creek) operated a retail sportsbook and Colorado sports betting app for customers 21 or older and located within state lines.

Colorado’s Limited Gaming Control Commission (LGCC) approved Wildwood Casino for in-person and online sports betting licenses in April 2020 and BetWildwood.com launched that July. The BetWildwood app ceased operations in mid-2022.

BetWildwood Sportsbook offered standard pregame wagers plus in-play betting in partnership with ISI Race & Sports.

We reviewed our experience using the BetWildwood Sportsbook app when it was operational and presented our opinion of the product below:

BetWildwood Promo Code

BetWildwood Sportsbook no longer offers a bonus or promo code.

BetWildwood Sports Betting App

The BetWildwood app offered a reasonable balance between simplicity and functionality.

The app was not particularly sleek or polished, but the color scheme and layout maximized readability. We found it easy to find markets, odds, and navigate. Additionally, loading times were minimal.

BetWildwood did not support live-streaming video but offered a plethora of stats. For example, bettors could look up each team’s head-to-head record, current standings, view the current game’s stats, and keep up to date with live data feeds during in-play betting events.

BetWildwood In-Play Betting

The in-play betting experience at BetWildwood was strong in some respects but lagged behind other online sportsbooks in Colorado in terms of betting options for each event.

For comparison’s sake, we looked at an in-play MLB event covered by both BetWildwood and BetRivers Sportsbook.

The in-play betting options for that game offered by BetWildwood consisted of five markets:

  • Moneyline
  • Innings 1-5 point spread
  • Innings 1-5 point total
  • Full game point total
  • 5th inning point total
  • 4th inning point spread

Meanwhile, BetRivers offered 67 unique markets for the same game covering a full range of game outcomes plus props and continuous “instant betting” markets allowing users to bet on the outcome of every pitch.

The key takeaway here is that BetWildwood covered the main types of bets, but bettors who want to bet on every pitch of the game would be better served elsewhere.

On a more positive note, BetWildwood had an excellent in-play betting interface full of statistics, live game data and winning percentage predictions. When viewing an in-play betting event through the BetWildwood app or website, customers were provided free access to past stats, current league standings for each team, stats on key players and a play-by-play data feed.

BetWildwood Colorado also provided data visualization for many events, which allowed users to view the location of every pitch, location of the ball on the field and more.

BetWildwood Betting Markets

BetWildwood accepted wagers on the most popular sports and leagues, with a standard variety of bet types. Our experience came up short in market depth compared to some of its more established competitors.

We found types of bets available for pre-game betting to be adequate, but the in-play betting options to be sparse. Common types of wagers offered by BetWildwood included:

  • Point spread, moneyline and total
  • Winning margin
  • Inning/quarter/half outcomes and totals
  • Player props
  • Team props
  • Game props
  • 3-way moneylines
  • Race to X points
  • Futures

Sports coverage included all major professional leagues, college sports, and a fair number of international leagues.

BetWildwood Sportsbook Deposit Methods

BetWildwood deposit methods were limited but most customers found acceptable options to fund their accounts:

ACH ECheck (VIP Preferred) Credit Cards Debit Cards Play+ Prepaid Card

BetWildwood Customer Support

Customer support was not a strong point for BetWildwood. Customers could contact BetWildwood via live chat or e-mail, but support hours were limited.

The BetWildwood website and mobile app provided an FAQ for self-help that we found to be limited in scope.

Expert Opinion: Was BetWildwood Legit?

BetWildwood was the official online sportsbook of Cripple Creek’s Wildwood Casino before closing. Because of that and it’s sports betting license approval from the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission, we considered it a legitimate operator while operational.

However, ultimately BetWildwood came up short in terms of promotions, betting markets, and customer support options.
