Resorts Casino Atlantic City and The Stars Group announced today announced they have expanded their existing partnership to include online and mobile sports betting in New Jersey.

In a press release, The Stars Group explains they will collaborate with Resorts Casino Hotel to operate a mobile and online sports betting product under the BetStars brand. Details of the deal were not disclosed, but The Stars Group said today that it intends to provide customers with an all-in-one experience, allowing customers to bet on sports, play casino games, and play online poker through a single account.

Some details included in the press release point to some interesting features BetStars has in mind for the New Jersey market such as:

Big Moves for Resorts Casino in New Jersey

Today’s news is the second major development for Resorts Casino in two days. Yesterday, Resorts Casino and DraftKings launched the DraftKings New Jersey Sportsbook app for select customers in the state during a soft launch phase. DraftKings Sportsbook is only inviting certain NJ customers to play for real money right now, but a full launch is imminent.

Now, Resorts Casino is close to deploying its second mobile sportsbook in conjunction with The Stars Group. Both partnerships provide Resorts Casino with powerful allies in a New Jersey market that is just getting started.

In DraftKings, Resorts Casino has a partner that is established in the US market with a brand that is known to millions of players. As DraftKings Sportsbook gets up and running, it will have at its hands a database of some 9 million potential customers located across the US. Name recognition and experience in online gaming make DraftKings a valuable partner for Resorts.

In BetStars, Resorts Casino has an even bigger name on the international stage. The Stars Group, which owns BetStars, is already active in dozens of markets and holds nearly a dozen gaming licenses around the world. The Stars Group operates a number of widely-recognized grands on the international stage such as PokerStars, Sky Bet, CrownBet and William Hill Australia.

BetStars also has experience specifically in online sports betting. The BetStars brand launched in 2015 as a betting site focused on regulated markets throughout Europe and beyond. That prior experience, especially in highly regulated markets such as the UK, will prove invaluable as Resorts Casino seeks to establish itself in the US online gaming market.

Resorts Casino will be glad to have such partners in a market that is quickly heating up. MGM Resorts International recently joined forces with GVC in a $200 million deal to target the online sports betting market in the USA. Just a day later, MGM announced it has reached a deal with the NBA to become the league’s official gambling partner.

Caesars Entertainment has also been busy gearing up for USA sports betting. Earlier this week, Caesars announced a major sports betting push in New Jersey and Mississippi. This included not only the launch of in-person sportsbooks in New Jersey and Mississippi but also the impending launch of online sports betting for NJ customers.
