Hard Rock Bet offers legal online sports betting in a steadily growing list of states. Formerly known as Hard Rock Sportsbook, Hard Rock Bet enhanced its mobile app as a part of an ambitious rebrand project in July 2023.
The new app sees the addition of an upgraded loyalty program, an enhanced navigational system, and innovative new features like Flex Parlays. It doesn’t quite feel like a finished product just yet, but it’s on the path.
Today’s Hard Rock Bet review will examine whether its mobile app, sports betting lines, promotions, and other features strike the right chords or fall flat. Bettors will also learn how they can take immediate advantage of a $100 no regret first bet welcome bonus.

The Hard Rock Bet welcome bonus is less ambitious than average second chance bet promos, but it offers the advantage of minimal terms and conditions. Bettors who qualify for refunds receive their bonus bets immediately and may use them with no wagering requirements or other obligations.
However, there are three important things to note about the Hard Rock Bet bonus:
- Bonus bets are not withdrawable, but bettors can withdraw all winnings
- Winning bonus bets only return the net profit, not the original stake
- Bettors have seven days to use their bonus bets after receipt

Other Hard Rock Bet Promotions
In addition to the welcome bonus, Hard Rock Bet customers are treated to a revolving door of other promotions. Some of the more common types are:
- Odds boosts: Every day, Hard Rock Bet posts special odds boosts on select wagers. These offer decent value, but they serve more to trim the house edge than flip it in a bettor’s favor.
- Happy Hours: Every Friday from 4 pm – 6 pm, Hard Rock Bet drops a new special odds boost. These offer particularly favorable odds but are only live for one hour.
- Overdrive Boosts: Loyalty Rewards members that reach Silver will receive even better boosts that most certainly give them an edge over the house. The maximum bet size on these wagers is $50.
- Refer-A-Friend: Hard Rock Bet customers who refer their friends to the app, will receive a Sports Mystery Wheel spin, pending your friend uses your invite link to register, deposit, and place a real-money sports wager. Wheel prizes range from $10 – $500, paid as a bonus bet.
Hard Rock Bet Loyalty Rewards
All new customers automatically join Hard Rock Bet Loyalty Rewards upon signing up and begin earning points to unlock a range of value-added perks that range from bonus bets to VIP treatment, and high-end goods (like a new Tesla).
After signing up for Hard Rock Sportsbook accounts, new users begin earning Reward Points and Tier Credits with every wager they place. Bettors earn Reward Points (RPs) and Tier Credits (TCs) simultaneously at the same base rate, but each serves a different purpose:
- Hard Rock Bet Reward Points: Reward Points are the currency of Hard Rock Bet Loyalty Rewards. Customers earn RPs while placing wagers and may exchange them for bonuses and other items in the Rewards Store.
- Hard Rock Bet Tier Credits: Tier Credits determine each bettor’s status in the tiered loyalty program. The more TCs bettors earn, the higher they move up through the VIP program to unlock higher-end benefits.
Hard Rock Bet is mostly transparent about how bettors earn RPs and TCs. It even goes so far as to add an in-app tool that takes bet size, odds, and current loyalty tier as inputs, and spits back the number of RPs customers will earn.
The long and the short of it is that bettors earn more TCs and RPs when placing wagers at longer odds. For instance, a $100 wager at -150 earns just 1 RP while the same wager at +400 earns 6 RPs. However, if a bettor has climbed the loyalty ranks, they’ll receive a multiplier of up to 10x on their RP earn rates.
For example, a wager that would earn 10 RPs for a customer at the basic “Member” level would earn 100 RPs at the Diamond level, where members receive a 10x earn rate bonus.
BettingUSA can confirm that bettors can earn fractional RPs based on their wagering action, and must place at least one wager every 90 days to retain their RPs.
Hard Rock Loyalty Rewards Tiers
Hard Rock Loyalty Rewards involves six tiers based on the number of TCs bettors earn per month. The more TCs bettors earn, the higher they advance through the tiers. As bettors move up in tiers, they receive increasingly beneficial perks.
It’s a nice loyalty program in most regards, but Hard Rock Loyalty Rewards has two significant weaknesses as explained in its terms and conditions:
- Bettors who don’t generate at least a fractional Reward Point ever 90 days forfeit all Reward Points
- Each customer’s tier level is determined based on TCs earned on a rolling 30-day basis; some other sports betting rewards programs guarantee customers’ tiers for six months to a year
Hard Rock Bet Online Sports Betting Overview
Hard Rock first launched its online sportsbook in January 2019, in partnership with Gaming Innovation Group (GiG). However, their alliance was terminated in September 2020, and at the time, Hard Rock represented less than 2% of GiG’s annual revenue.
Despite its initial hardships, Hard Rock was able to secure licenses and launch its product in seven state markets. Its big turning point came in July 2023, when it released a reimagined sports betting app developed completely in-house by Hard Rock’s online gaming division, Hard Rock Digital.
Hard Rock Bet seeks to be a game changer, and while there are signs of greatness, there are some areas of concern.
On a positive note, the app’s overall design feels sleek and modern, with visual icons taking the place of traditional navigational bars and screen real estate used effectively. Betting menus and filters are kept extraordinarily simple, yet remain functional enough that bettors should have little issue traversing the marketplace.
This minimalistic approach results in the app reacting super quickly to user input, which is especially important to in-play bettors.
In addition, the app has already integrated several popular betting formats, like Same Game Parlays, in-play wagering, and microbetting, along with its own innovation, Flex Parlays.
Hard Rock Bet launches with over a dozen available sports markets, spanning over 100 leagues. Professional US sports, college games, and international leagues all receive ample coverage.
However, there are significantly fewer pregame and in-play betting markets compared to the industry’s major players. That, and the betting odds simply don’t always wow. Admittedly, for some markets they’re exceptional, but for others they’re merely average or a tick below.
The loyalty program is needlessly convoluted and more restrictive than those offered by players like DraftKings, BetMGM, and Caesars. Furthermore, Hard Rock Bet is simply not as widely accessible as those online sportsbooks, at least not yet.
Bettors can download the Hard Rock Bet app for iOS and Android devices or visit app.HardRock.bet to place wagers from their desktop computers. The app is receiving much more favorable reviews than its predecessor, which is a positive sign going forward.
Hard Rock Bet Sports Betting Markets
Hard Rock Bet supports all the mainstay sports in the US and an on the international stage. In addition to key US sports leagues like the NFL and NBA, Hard Rock offers tennis betting, soccer, rugby, boxing, MMA, and more.
While Hard Rock Sportsbook covers all the primary sports from around the world, the selection here isn’t quite as extensive as some of the other, more established betting sites on the market. For instance, BetMGM Sportsbook covers a larger selection of international soccer leagues.
Hard Rock also tends to stick with the major sports in general. Niche sports such as darts and cycling are nowhere to be seen. However, the biggest miss may be a complete lack of cricket betting. That being said, Hard Rock sports betting options should satisfy the vast majority of US-based bettors.
Hard Rock Bet provides coverage of the following sports:
- Aussie Rules
- Baseball
- Basketball
- Boxing
- Football
- Golf
- Handball
- Hockey
- MMA
- Motor Sports
- Rugby
- Snooker
- Soccer
- Tennis
- NCAA / College Sports
Hard Rock Bet offers a reasonable number of betting markets for singular events. For instance, a single MLB game had roughly 60 individual in-play wagers on offer. This included the standard array of moneyline, run line, and totals wagers along with several alternative spreads and totals, 1st 3 & 5 innings results, play-by-play results, and a variety of player and game props.
Compared to the most established names in the industry the betting markets are still rather sparse, but Hard Rock Bet holds up decently well against other mid-tier online sportsbooks. It even excels in a few areas, like NFL futures, where it offers dozens of bets, including ones that were tough to find elsewhere, like wagers on the exact final standings of each division.
At the same time, its alternative lines markets are thin when stacked up against DraftKings or FanDuel. For an NFL game, there might be just a few alt spreads and totals, while DK and FD regularly offer 50+. Additionally, while Hard Rock Bet does support Same Game Parlays, the odds for individual bets are not listed in the SGP menu, which feels a bit disorienting.
Here is the full list of bet types provided by Hard Rock Bet:
- Moneylines
- Totals
- Point spreads
- In-play betting
- Microbetting
- Alternate spreads and totals
- Derivatives
- Futures
- Props
- Parlays
- Round robins
- Teasers
Parlays are managed by Hard Rock through the site’s integrated betting slip and can be constructed to your desire. Just select two or more wagers to add them to the betting slip and then hit the “parlay” option on the slip to add them to a parlay.
For example, you can see in the betting slip pictured here that I have picked the Rams to beat the Patriots and for the point total to be under 56.5. With those two options combined, Hard Rock gives me odds of +301 if both outcomes pan out as predicted.
Bettors can also choose to convert their bets into round robins, teasers (football and basketball only), and Flex Parlays from the bet slip.
Hard Rock Bet Flex Parlays
Hard Rock Bet’s Flex Parlays give bettors more control by allowing them to choose how many legs need to win for the whole bet to pay off. It’s a unique form of wagering that might appeal to bettors who know the sting of watching a big payday go up in flames after the last game on a multi-leg parlay goes poorly.
In other words, Flex Parlays give bettors bad beat protection when they need it most. For example, a bettor can build a 5-leg parlay and specify that it will win if at least or four (or three if they want) of the selections win. The payout odds take a massive hit when bettors grant themselves that extra margin of error, so fans have to decide if it’s worth the reduced payout to eliminate the most brutal of bad beats.
For instance, if a bettor parlays 4 NFL point spreads at -110, the odds are +1228. If the bettor chooses the “3 or more to win” Flex Parlay option, the odds sink to +159. This may seem like a drastic dropoff, but it’s five times more likely for 3 out of 4 spreads to win than all four. That being said, Hard Rock Bet does appear to take a small “second vig” for the priviledge of betting Flex Parlays.
Building a Flex Parlay begins like placing any other type of parlay. First, bettors add multiple selections to the slip to build a standard parlay. Then, they can hit the “Flex Parlay” option and choose the number of legs that must win for the parlay to win. This short video from Hard Rock Bet shows the concept in action:
Hard Rock Bet: Betting Odds
Hard Rock Bet really surprises with its in-play lines, which are not only extremely good, but also suggest that Hard Rock takes positions on games. Kudos to that. Even the vigorish on play-by-play instant bets is lower than what bettors will find elsewhere.
Pregame is more of a mixed bag. NFL point spreads and totals are listed at standard -110 odds, but the moneylines shade a bit toward the juicier side. However, MLB moneyline odds are just about as fair as bettors will find anywhere.
Turning to more exotic bets, the VIG on Yes/No or Over/Under props is generally lower than what bettors might typically expect, averaging right around -112. Additionally, the juice on the few alt spreads and totals that Hard Rock Bet does offer is reasonable. Lastly, there’s some value to be had betting futures at Hard Rock Bet, but bettors have to pick their battles carefully.
It’s in international markets like soccer where Hard Rock Bet is less comfortable, that the juice starts to add up. The vigorish on 3-way moneyline soccer bets isn’t the worst out there, not by a long shot, but there are better options.

Hard Rock Bet In-Play Betting
Hard Rock Bet introduced in-play betting on launch day and has been going strong since. All the major North American sports are offered with in-play wagers along with a contingent of international sports, tennis, and others.
There are two ways to find the latest in-play betting markets. First, you can tap the “Live Now” menu icon to see a list of events that are all running right now. Additionally, look for the “Live” arrow next to any matchups displayed in the main sports betting area.
Hard Rock Bet deserves kudos for offering an in-depth live betting interface from day one with extensive wagering options and a handy in-play display that shows possession, live scoring data, and lots of stats.
It’s not the most comprehensive in-play betting site, but it checks most boxes, and has recently partnered with Simplebet to enhance its microbetting offering. Perhaps more importantly, Hard Rock’s in-play pricing is extremely fair, if not industry best.
Give Hard Rock Bet some more time to expand its in-play betting markets, and its live betting experience will vault to the top tier.

Expert Opinion: Is Hard Rock Sportsbook Legit?
Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook is safe and reputable, and has certaintly turned up the dial in the areas of design, in-play betting odds, and innovation. Also impressive is the speed at which the software responds to user inputs. There’s still work to be done, as the number of available sports markets isn’t quite up to snuff, nor is the loyalty program as rewarding as it could be.
Ultimately, BettingUSA believes that Hard Rock Bet is a strong contender but it’ll need to hit the overdrive button before it’s considered a top-tier online sportsbook. However, it’s legitimacy should never be in question, as its the product of a highly regarded interntional brand and legal and licensed in every state that it conducts business.
