A study commissioned earlier this year that provides an overview of several gambling expansions under consideration in Virginia was submitted to the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission.
Pennsylvania online poker is finally a reality following the successful launch of PokerStars PA. And at least early on, Pennsylvanians have been flocking to the online poker tables.
But sports betting isn’t the only gaming expansion states are looking to for extra revenue. Casino expansion has become a hot topic in a number of states, particularly in southern states that have thus far resisted the siren calls of casino gambling.
A group of California tribes filed a ballot measure that would put retail sports betting in California on the 2020 ballot. The proposal would amend the California constitution to allow sports betting at tribal casinos and race tracks in California, and secondarily, allow tribal casinos to add craps and roulette games.

But anyone that followed the state’s decade-long effort to legalize online poker will caution you to ignore the chatter and wait for action.
