The league that once fought tooth and nail against New Jersey’s sports betting legalization effort has now reached an agreement to make MGM Resorts International the official gambling partner of the NBA and WNBA.

Legal sports betting has finally come to Mississippi. The state’s first ever legal sports bets are scheduled to be placed at Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi and Gold Strike in Tunica.

MGM Resorts International and GVC Holdings have agreed to join forces to target the growing USA sports betting and online gambling markets. The companies issued a press release yesterday announcing their intention to each contribute an initial $100 million in a 50/50 joint venture that will be headquartered in the US.

At least one casino in Pennsylvania has plans to offer sports betting in 2018. This morning, gambling software provider GAN plc announced it has reached an agreement with Parx Casino to offer in-person and online sports betting in Pennsylvania. GAN says it anticipates launching sports betting in the second half of 2018.

An in-play sports betting company founded by a successful poker player and sports bettor is gearing up to take its fast-paced product to the market in the United States. Metric Gaming, which already supplies in-play betting solutions to operators in regulated markets such as the UK and Europe, now has its sights on the USA.

Australian firm PointsBet has achieved a major milestone in securing its place in the quickly-growing US sports betting market. And, rather than bringing just another sportsbook to the US, PointsBet will be unveiling a product unlike any other currently available in the United States.

The Associated Press is reporting today that the FanDuel Group has announced plans to open an online casino and an online sportsbook for New Jersey residents in time for the start of the NFL season.
